Imatra hydroelectric power plant

The Imatra hydropower plant, completed in 1929, is located in the centre of the city of Imatra. It is the largest power plant in Finland. It has a capacity of 192 MW and a head of 24 metres. It has one Kaplan and six Francis turbines. The average annual output is sufficient to supply just over 50 000 households with electricity for heating.
