St. Nicholas church and water sanctuary park

The Church of St Nicholas in Imatra is an orthodox church, completed in 1956. The church was designed by architect Toivo Paatela. The church contains important sacral objects dating back to the 1700s. The church is connected to the shore of Vuoksi, where there is a water sanctuary park. The church of St Nicholas was consecrated in 1986 and its patron saint is St Nicholas, known as the protector of travellers.
