Lauritsala church
Lauritsala Church, known as the "Light of Heaven", is an architecturally significant building. It was designed by renowned architects Toivo Korhonen and Jaakko Laapotti, who created the church's unique shape and structure. The church was completed in 1969 and has an equilateral triangular base.
The church's concrete roof was made using the sliding casting method, an advanced technique for building projects of the time. The large glass roof allows plenty of natural light to enter the church, creating a bright and open atmosphere. In addition, the wall behind the altar is designed with vertical windows that extend all the way to the top of the church.
