Enjoy the sandy beach and admire the rock walls by the water

Karihiekka is located near the Luonteri Nature Reserve, and the route to the beach passes through protected areas. Luonteri offers its visitors clean water and Karihiekka is one of the most popular beaches in Juva. From the north, from the centre of Juva, it is about 39 km to the crossroads of Karihieka.

The Karihiekka harbour is equipped with a pier which can also accommodate larger boats. The harbour offers facilities for its visitors, such as a shed, waste disposal point, latrine and septic tank. An information board in the area provides further information about hiking and attractions in the area, right next to the marina. The area around Karihiekka is accessible by car.

The sandy beach changes inland to a pine-rich grassy landscape, which is also bordered by steep cliffs, which are controlled by fault lines. The rocks are of the main rock type in the area, a mixture of garnet-cordierite-mica gneiss crossed by broad, coarse-grained granite strata.
