Pappilanniemi rocky shores

Pappilanniemi is a nice nature paradise near Lappeenranta. The area is valuable for its flora and fauna, and up to 350 different species of plants have been recorded. Pappilanniemi is bordered by extensive siliciclastic rocks, washed by Lake Saimaa, on whose surfaces you can see both signs of glacial erosion and inclusions from the formation of the rocks. An easy nature trail (3 km) runs around the mountain, from which you can stop to admire the stunning views of Lake Saimaa at several different points.
